Patrizia Burra is Full Professor of Gastroenterology, Head of the Gastroenterology and Multivisceral Transplant Units at Padua University Hospital, Italy.
She is clinically and scientifically involved in the field of liver transplantation (LT), mainly HBV prophylaxis after LT, LT for MAFLD and MASH, early-LT for acute alcoholic hepatitis.
Currently, she is UEG Public Affairs Group Chair and General Secretary of the Italian Society of Gastroenterology. In 2021 she received the EASL recognition award and the Fellow of AASLD (FAASLD). She is Co-chair of The Lancet-EASL Commission on liver diseases in Europe and Deputy Editor of Journal of Hepatology. She has authored over 460 articles in international peer-reviewed journals (H-index 67).
